By making changes in your diet, you’ll change your life.

Have you heard the phrase “you are what you eat” before? Actually, this isn’t totally correct. The same research has now proven that you are NOT what you consume, but rather what you ABSORB at the cellular level.

Let’s start with the basics of appropriate diet and nutrition. These are the fundamentals of life:

1. Oxygen — Exercise is crucial for your cells to receive enough life-giving oxygen to maintain health and longevity.

2. Food — The food we consume is where our bodies get the nutrients they need to keep their cells alive. Our cells, obviously, require fuel to survive. However, one thing you may not be aware of is that millions of your cells die every day. However, God has placed an incredible power of regeneration within your body. This procedure involves the replacement of dying cells with fresh, live cells. The meals you eat and the fluid you drink give the body the energy it requires to create new cells. So, if your entire diet consists of McDonald’s French fries and Twinkies, you could be in some serious danger!.

The body can only use the fuel we provide for it to use in this process of repair. What amazes me is that people may consume a terrible diet and still have their bodies know how to generate lung cells, heart cells, and hair. Because the foods we eat become the fundamental building blocks of our bodies, it is vital that we give the best possible nutrition.

3. Water — Because your body is 70% to 80% water, it is critical that you drink a good, clean source of pure water to keep your cells healthy. Hydration aids in the proper repair of your cells as well as the removal of toxins and poisons. You can go without food for 30–45 days, but not more than 5–7 days without water. As a result, water is a top priority for life and health. Food isn’t even close to being as essential as water, but look at how much attention we give to our diets.

Here are some very simple tips that will help you achieve the goal of eating healthy for life :

a) Calories — Figure out how many calories your body needs to function each day, and then adjust your diet to that amount. The amount of calories a person needs to consume is highly variable, as it is determined by their metabolism (metabolic rate) and level of physical activity. If you are someone who is not very active, then your caloric intake should be much lower than someone who works out regularly. Muscle aids in fat loss. Someone who has more muscle mass will require more calories than someone who doesn’t. If you want to eat more without gaining weight, it makes sense to start lifting weights at your local gym. The more muscle you gain will help you burn calories and lose body fat.

b) Fats — It is important that you consume some fat-containing foods so that your body functions effectively. Healthy fats also help to maintain the appearance of your skin and hair. However, it’s vital that you eat the correct fats and don’t overdo them. Avoid products that include animal or vegetable oils because they are rich in calories. Instead, opt for olive oil, almonds, fish oil, and seed oils that are high in monounsaturated fatty acids. These fats not only cut cholesterol levels but also cut the risk of heart disease. It’s a good idea to eat fish many times a week.

c) Carbohydrates — Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy. But, at the end of the day, the key is to eat the right carbohydrates. Reduce your intake of simple carbs like sugar and processed flour if you don’t want to acquire weight instead eat more complex carbohydrates like brown rice, whole grain flour, oats, and nourishing fruits and vegetables. These foods are loaded with nutrients, are low in calories, and are very filling.

These are some simple tips which you can follow and you won’t have to worry about weight loss diets or health problems in the future.
